2. Hot and Cold Web Deflection of Crankshaft

  • Check the deflection of the crankshaft in both hot and cold conditions, under standstill position of the engine, before overhauling.
  • Record the deflection measurements to compare them after overhauling and before commissioning the engine.
  • Use these deflection measurements to determine if any corrective actions need to be taken during the overhauling process.

3. Cylinder Head Overhauling

  • Overhaul cylinder head components.
  • Inspect inlet/exhaust valve grinding.
  • Check safety valve replacement per condition.

4. Piston and Connecting Rod Maintenance

  • Clean and inspect piston and connecting rods.
  • Perform ultrasonic & DP test for piston pin.
  • Inspect small end and big end bearings.
  • Inspect connecting rod for wear and serration.

5. Camshaft and Operating Gear Maintenance

  • Inspect and retighten camshaft.
  • Inspect and service inlet/exhaust/fuel roller.
  • Check push rod and tube condition.
  • Adjust camshaft and check bearing clearances.

6. Safety and Alarm System

  • Test safety alarm and trip function.
  • Inspect governor and overhauling overspeed device.

7. Main Bearing and Engine Block Maintenance

  • Inspect main bearing and guide bearing.
  • Inspect thrust bearing and pedestal bearing.
  • Clean engine block and remove oil sump.
  • Check crankshaft and re-tighten holding down bolts.

8. Turbocharger and Air Intake System

  • Overhaul and clean turbochargers.
  • Inspect charge air cooler and air intake system.
  • Clean filters and louver.

9. Fuel Oil System

  • Overhaul fuel injection pump and valves.
  • Clean fuel filters and high-pressure fuel pipes.
  • Adjust combustion pressure as per protocol.

10. Lubricating Oil System

  • Overhaul lubricating oil pump and filter.
  • Clean lubricating oil cooler.

11. Internal Water System

  • Overhaul H.T. water pump and thermostatic valve.
  • Clean H.T. water cooler.

12. Other and Auxiliary Systems

  • Inspect flexible pipeline and water/lub oil pipe.
  • Overhaul nozzle cooling pump and pressure lube oil pump.
